OT Immigration HW
"Why do people immigrate?" There are several reasons why people would choose to live in other countries. One of them could be that their life is boring to them, and they want to see some place new. They want to see new sights, experience new things and meet new people. It could also be to better themselves. Things might not be working so well where they live, so they go somewhere else to see if they can fare any better. Immigrants could be living in poverty, and hope for a better future in different countries. The problem is the available number of jobs. These are called push factors and pull factors. Sometimes, the main reason people will immigrate, is for education. Like I said before, some of these immigrants could be living in poverty where they live, and therefore wouldn't get very good schools for learning, so they might move so their children might have a better life then they did. Immigrants could be refugees, escaping from a war in their country. They could be being persecuted for crimes they committed and could be evading criminal justice. Or their reason could be just the opposite of that. They could be part of a witness protection program. Some move because of a romance in the country they are moving to, or to re-unite with far off relatives. A few could be moving due to bad health and pollution in their region. There are a lot of reasons a foreigner might want to move to another country, but I probably won't be able to list them all.
